Welcome to the Rutherford Community and our website. The contents of this site are for everyone to enjoy, and the focus is on the Rutherford Community. This site is owned and operated by the Rutherford Civic Association.
We are an active community of almost 700 homes located between Guinea Road and Olley Lane in Fairfax County, Virginia. The community has tree-lined streets, great schools, a wonderful neighborhood park, walking trails, and a popular community swimming pool. We are a diverse family-oriented community with friendly neighbors and helpful services.
Longbranch Stream and a smaller tributary run through the community, surrounded by plush woods and pleasant trails for walking, running and bicycling. Rutherford Park is a delightful 23 acre green space boasting an updated playground, picnic facilities, a basketball court, 3 tennis courts, 2 softball fields, generous parking, and access to the Longbranch Stream Valley Trail. Adjoining the park, the Rutherford Area Swim Club is one of the best-equipped community pools in the area and a vibrant gathering place between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Rutherford Community boundaries include Little Run Elementary School and its accessible playing fields and updated playground. The community is also served by the exceptional Fairfax County Public Schools of Woodson High School and Frost Middle School
Rutherford neighbors are active volunteers in the community, supporting activities including Fall Festival, National Night Out, Santa visits benefitting Toys for Tots, Neighborhood Watch safety patrol, block parties, and many other community-enhancing activities and efforts.
